SESCO Cement Terminal — Houston, Texas

Project overview

Superb Electric LLC provided the field electrical installation for the SESCO/BBM Cement Terminal, a large-scale cement import and distribution facility on the Port of Houston Ship Channel, under a $21 million electrical contract. The roughly 600,000-square-foot terminal includes six cement storage domes, ship-unloading and rail systems, automated packing lines, and a storage capacity exceeding 250,000 metric tons.

Superb Electric's scope covered field installation of feeders between the facility's transformer, electrical house, and motor control centers, along with industrial cable tray, raceway, terminations, and grounding and bonding throughout the plant. The work supported motor control for the terminal's conveyors, bucket elevators, blowers, and compressors, plus power and control wiring for the automated packing lines and truck and rail loading systems.

Superb Electric carried out the work over an 18-month schedule, staffing up to 20 electricians on site at peak.
